Numerical Simulation of Flow, Heat, Solidification, Solute Transfer and Electromagnetic Field for Vertical Mold and Curved Mold of Billet

A three-dimensional model, which coupled flow, heat transfer, solidification, solute transport and electromagnetic field, was separately developed for vertical mold curved of billet continuous casting. Therefore, the characteristics disciplinarians macroscopic behavior different types were revealed. The influence stirring (M-EMS) curvature on in investigated detail. results indicate that M-EMS can cause obvious rotating flow enhance superheat dissipation molten steel to promote growth solidification shell. has a profound effect field distribution mold, further affects temperature mold. is necessary consider predicting transmission phenomenon Moreover, predicted experimental distributions magnetic flux density near surface element C content compare agreeably, indicates validity model current work.
